FESTIVAL RULES AND REGULATIONS

1 Entry Fees are non-refundable

2. Late entries will only be accepted at the discretion of the Section Directors after consultation with the Festival Office. A late fee of £2 per performer per class will be enforced after the closing date.

3. AGE LIMITS the age of performers is taken as on 31 December 2011.

4. The Committee may combine Sections or Classes when entries are small or divide a class when entries are large

5. Adjudicators may stop any performance at their discretion. Their decision in all cases shall be final. It must be understood that each Adjudicator has his own standard of marking and that there is no comparison between the marks of different Sections and Classes. At least 80 marks must be obtained to win the award of a Cup or Certificate.

6. Communication with the Adjudicator by performers, teachers or other interested parties, prior to, during, or after the performance is prohibited.

7. No recording may be made by members of the public of any Festival Performance. Photography, filming, video or tape recording is prohibited during performance and adjudication, except by Springboard Festival staff by prior agreement with the Performers.

Photography – we have an official photographer who will be taking photographs throughout the festival and these photographs may appear on our website and for festival publicity.  Please inform us if you do not wish your child to be photographed during the festival performances. 

8. PROTESTS Performers desiring to enter a protest must lodge the same in writing with the Secretary, together with the grounds on which it is based, and a sum of £10. Should the protest upon investigation by the Board of Trustees, be found to be frivolous or unfounded, the deposit may be forfeited. The decision of the Board of Trustees shall be final. Verbal protests will not be accepted.

16. Trophies shall remain the property of Sussex Festival Ltd. They should be carefully preserved and returned promptly to the address given to them by 5th February 2013. Failure to return trophies promptly will result in the Trophy Holder be­ing prohibited from performing in the 2013 Festival. Trophy Holders will be held financially responsible for the safe return of the Trophies and Bases. Winners of Cups are personally responsible for the cost if they wish to have their names inscribed thereon. If sent by post, the cost of packing and registration will be charged.

17. ANIMALS, with the exception of Guide Dogs, cannot be admitted into any performance venue.

18. THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES reserve the right to refuse any entry.

19. ANY BREACH OF THE RULES may result in disqualification.

20. THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES shall have the power to make any other regulations or to interpret or qualify any of the foregoing Rules as occasion may arise.
